Dr Juanita Olaya Garcia

With over 25 years of experience Dr Juanita Olaya Garcia uses a combination of organizational development approaches and systems thinking to help people and organsiations turn paper to practice, supporting their change processes and aligning their structures and resources for more impact.

Her track record in the areas of good governance, sustainability, human rights and anti-corruption across the world have made her a renowned expert in these fields.

From her private practice based in Berlin, she works with a wide range of actors including international and national institutions, the private sector, NGOs and comunity associations.

In her practice, Juanita’s unique combination of expertise allows her to offer both process and content-expert work to support her clients’ needs. Juanita applies systemic methods in thinking and practice, and uses resources from music and the performing arts to foster creative thinking and engagement. She is passionate about effective leadership, developing healthy and motivating work environments and supporting organisations to shape themselves for the future.

Among others,  she has worked together with international partners like the World Bank, The Inter-American Development Bank, Transparency International, OSCE, UNDP, GIZ, SECO, the OECD, the Water Integrity Network and numerous national partners across the globe. Juanita has been a council member at the World Economic Forum of the “Benchmarking Progress in Society’s Global Council and has participated in Boards of diverse national organisations.

Juanita is currently the Chair of the UNCAC Coalition Working Group on Victims of Corruption. She has served as member of the International Expert Panel (IEP) at the Open Government Partnership (OGP)’s Review Mechanism, as Chair and Vice-Chair of the UNCAC Coalition and as a member of the International Review Panel of the World Bank’s Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative (StAR) among other boards. In addition to her engagements as public speaker, her publications on topics of integrity and good governance are widely used and referenced.

She is a Colombian/German lawyer (Andes, 1991) with master degrees in Economics (Andes, 1994) and Public Administration (Harvard, KSG 1998) and a Doctorate (Dr. jur) in International Public Economic Law (Bonn, 2010).
